Abstract:
This study aims to understand the relationship between the financial literacy level of Canadian university students and their prior education on the subject. The results revealed that education on financial topics improved FL level. However, the improvement is almost insignificant for courses taken at the secondary level, and not nearly as important at the university level as we thought it would be. Also, the improvement varied by the different fields of study at the university level and for the different dimensions of FL. Finally, the results showed that FL is influenced by socio-demographic variables as well.
