Abstract:
This study aims to predict academic burnout
based on attribution styles and goal orientation of female
students in 2012-13 school years. Correlational research
method was used for this purpose. The statistical population
consisted of all female students in the junior high school with
a total of 240, that using multistage cluster sampling method,
in total 150 were randomly selected as samples. Then to
measure each variable, general attribution scale questionnaire
of Deci and Ryan, goal orientation questionnaire of
Buffard and academic burnout questionnaire of Berso was
conducted on each subject of sample. Data were analyzed
using the Pearson correlation statistical method and multivariable
regression. The findings showed that the attribution
styles(autonomous and controlled) had significant relationship
with academic burnout and its subscales. Also, a
significant relationship was achieved between goal orientation
(learning and avoidance) and academic burnout. In
addition, both variables of attribution styles and goal
orientation with their subscales were able to predict
academic burnout.
