Abstract:
In order to give full play to the role of foreign teachers in college English teaching, this paper makes a questionnaire survey and interview on the present situation of oral English teaching for the students and the foreign teachers. Based on the results of the investigation and the interviews, the paper analyzes the present situation of foreign teachers’ oral English teaching from the aspects in which there are teaching aims, teaching plans and teaching contents of oral English courses, teaching modes and classroom activities, forms and standards of oral English examinations, advantages of foreign teachers, teaching characteristics of foreign teachers’ oral English classroom, problems in foreign teachers’ teaching, problems of students’ own existence and students’ evaluation of foreign teachers and puts forward some suggestions
